Operating in Orlando since 1986, Fresh Start Ministries of Central Florida is a charitable, nonprofit 501(c)3 organization that is dedicated to helping people afflicted with life-controlling problems. Fresh Start receives no federal or state funding and because Fresh Start is a nonprofit, we must depend on the financial contributions of interested individuals to help make a difference in the lives of these families who are struggling. Fresh Start's program is kept reasonably priced due to the generosity of individual and business financial donations.
The "business" of FSM is to heal the damaged lives of individuals afflicted by life-controlling problems, of which the most typical is addiction to alcohol or other drugs. The "business" is not raising funds.
In our society where the cost of maintaining a client in drug treatment can range from $200 to $1000 per day, the cost of serving a troubled adolescent approaches $150 per day, and the cost of warehousing prison inmates exceed $100 per day, the cost of Fresh Start's residential program represents great service delivery efficiency. For less than $25 per day, we provide our clients with food, housing, utilities, resident staff, support groups and teaching materials.
